Foreign Auto Insurance Premiums

When applying for foreign car insurance, you should keep in mind that the premiums are usually calculated on a case by case basis, which means that, for the very same package, two people are likely to pay different rates. The total costs of your overseas car insurance depend on several factors, such as your age, gender and previous driving record, but also on the car model and the period of time to be covered by the policy.
Women drivers and married men are usually billed less for breakdown covers abroad, because statistics show that they drive more cautiously and accident rates are lower. Most often, younger people have to pay more, since they are usually more careless in traffic. Demographic studies also show that a considerable amount of drivers involved in accidents due to speeding and alcohol consumption, are under the age of 30. As a rule, the younger you are, the more you will likely have to pay. Last, but not least, the bigger the engine, the more you will be charged, simply because you are far more likely to be involved in a crash if you are driving a V8 beast rather than grandpa's car.
Especially nowadays, with the current economic crisis, we all want to get the best out of the dollar spent, and such is also the case with foreign car insurance policies. Before leaving on vacation, you should do a bit of research, compare packages offered by a few automobile insurance companies and not go with the first one you run across.
